La Torre del Sole is one of the most complete astronomical observatories in Italy. Located in Brembate di Sopra, close to Bergamo, it has the goal to make astronomical science attractive to the widest and most disparate audience, facilitating an educational activity focused on active involvement of the public. An innovative approach developed through different keys that involves, besides the wonders of the Universe, also aspects connected to the humanistic and artistic fields.

The Circolo Astrofili Bergamaschi is a non-profit association with the goal to gather all astronomy enthusiasts from the Bergamo area.

The Italian Amateur Astronomers Union, that comprises thousands of individual members and more than 200 associations, is one of the most important astronomy associations in Europe and in the world. The members organize observation sessions, seminars and public lectures, themed exhibitions.

NASA, acronym for National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is an independent agency of the executive branch of the United States federal government responsible for the civilian space program, as well as aeronautics and aerospace research.

HDEV is an online streaming system composed by 4 HD video cameras mounted on the External Payload Facility of the European Space Agency’s Columbus module, that allow to view in high definition and almost live, continents, rivers, lakes and oceans that run below the ISS. The four devices ensure different point of views from the spectacular “balcony” that orbits 250 miles high and at a ground speed of 17,000 miles/h.
